| Field notes | Tree, 5 m tall, 7 cm in diameter. Branching pattern and phyllotaxy are distichous. Six to seven leaves are enclosed in one leafbud, and clustered in one module. Stipules are filamentous and early caducous. The inflorescences are terminally inserted, bell shaped, with 16 flowers per inflorescence (counted in one flower). The flowers are bright red and covered with a pubescence. Nectar is secreted from the hypanthium. Additional material in AAU: Flowers in alcohol, pods, leaf- and inflorescencebud. . |
