| Field notes | Tree 20 m heigh, diameter (1 1/2 m) 50 m. Leaves modular, in a distichous phyllotaxy, 11-13 pairs of leaflets per leaf, stipules are filamentous, and early caducous. Inflorescences are inserted terminally, diameter to 20 cm, 50-60 flowers per inflorescence. Sepales, petals, apex of stamens and anthers are bright red. Local name: Clavellín, Flor de Mayo (owner of the fince). Additional material (flowers in alcohol, pods) in AAU. |
