| Field notes | Tree, height 6 m. Leaves in a distichous phyllotaxy, with 2-3 pairs of leaflets per leaf. Stipules are filamentous, early caducous. Inflorescences are cauliflorous or ramiflorous. Flowers and stamens are red, anthers yellow. 1-3 pods develop per inflorescence. Local name: Flor de Mayo (information from worker at the hasienda). Additional material (flower bud and flowers in alcohol) in AAU. . |
