Field notes Solitary scandent, cirrate rattan; cane 5-6 m long, approx. 1.5 cm in diam., distance between leaves (petioles) 20-22 cm. Leaf sheath olive green, with striate ornament on the distal part of the cane, armed with few, up to 6 cm long, flattened, triangular and apically reddish brown spines; knee prominent, lighter green; petiole 22-24 cm long, green; blade 1.8-2 m long with 2 x 26 pinnae; cirrus 1-1.2 m long. Vernacular name: Wai khrom (Thai)
