| Field notes | Solitary tree, 6 m tall, DBH 9 cm. Stilt-roots 20 x 1 cm, green with prickly lenticels. Stem smooth, green. Distance between leaf-scars 20 cm basally, distally not visible because of persistent leaf-bases forming a fibrous layer. Leaf-bases sheating. A sword is present. Leaves seven, 2.3 x 1.7 m. Pinnae 2 x 23, reduplicate, pinnae dark green dorsally, green ventrally. Bracts 2. Peduncle 20 cm, yellow basally to green. Rachis up to 10 cm long. Fruits green. |
