| Field notes | Solitary tree, 12 m tall. Dbh. 25 cm. Stiltroots 2 m, numerous (>20), brown, 7-8 cm in diam covered with prickly lenticels. Stem smooth, densely covered with mosses. Distance between leafscars: 10-12 cm. Crownshaft 1.5 m, green with a yellow tinge on the upper part. A sword is present. Leaves 4. Petiole green, 40 cm long. Rachis green, dorsally sulcate and browny pubescent. No. of pinnae: 2 x 26, borne at different angles on the rachis, insertion reduplicate. Inflorescence infrafoliar, borne immediately below the crownshaft. Prophyll and 2 bracts. Peduncle 35 cm long, rachis 35 cm long. 1. order branches spicate, up to 1.2 m, all branches yellow.
