| Field notes | Solitary tree, 12 m tall, DBH 13 cm. Stem smooth, greyish brown. Crown shaft purple-tinged green, 1.7 m. A sword is present. Leaves five, 4.0 X 2.2. Petiole 40 cm long. Rachis ferruginous pubescent dorsally, otherwise brown. Pinnae 2 X 30. Some of the older leaves persistent. Inflorescence infrafoliar, borne 60 cm below the crown shaft. Sterile bracts 7, basal bracts with ferruginous pubescence. Peduncle 5 cm long and stout. Staminate flowers in anthesis. Pistillate flowers present in immature inflorescence. Duplicates: AAU, QCA, QCNE. |
