| Field notes | Solitary palm, stem 5.6 m tall, 6 cm in diam., with green internodes, 18-19 cm long below crownshaft, leaf scars about 1 cm wide. Number of leaves in crown 6. Leaf sheath tubular, forming a 65 cm long crownshaft, with ferrugineous, deciduous ramentose hair covering. Petiole very short to absent. Rachis 2.1 m long. Number of leaflets 2 x 18, 2-3 folded on the middle part, 5-8 folded apically. Infructescences 2. Nom. vern.: "bril" (Bewani talkplace). Duplicates at: AAU, LAE, BRI, K, CANB. |
