| Field notes | Solitary palm tree, stem 19 m long, 17 cm in diam., leaf scars conspicuous near the crownshaft, 1-2 cm wide, brownish, internodes 5-8 cm long, olive-green. leaves in crown 7 (+ one spear leaf). Leaf sheath tubular forming a 135 cm long crownshaft, yellowish green, splitting cleanly or with a few fibres along the black to brownish chartaceous rim. Petiole short to missing. Rachis 410 cm long. Number of leaflets 2 x 80, pendulous. One inflorescence with flowers in bud: Peduncle very short to missing. Rachis 48 cm long as measured to the base of the apical rachilla. Number of 1. order branches 15. Basal 1. order branch 45 cm long as measured to the base of the apical rachilla, with 12 2. order branches, basal 2. order branch 14 cm long, with 4 rachillae.
