| Field notes | Herb. Leaves above with area adjacent to midrib dark green. Flowers violet. Nom. vern.: "Oa-lan-tapé" (Cayapa) Use: For "Manchas blancas", a fungal disease affecting the skin and causing pigment defiency. Preparation: The leaves are boiled and when still hot used as sponge to wash the affected area of the skin. |
