| Field notes | Herb, 60 cm. Flowers red with constricted part of corolla dark red. Leaves dark green above. Nom. vern.: "Fimu-piñ-remedio-tapé". (Cayapa) Use: To treat bite from the Equis snake (Bothrops atrox). Preparation: The leaves are crushed and applicated to the bite. The paste is said to absorb the swelling. |
