| Field notes | Terrestial. Spathe brownish green. Spadix orange to yellow. Nom. vern.: "Pala-tapé" (Cayapa) Use: For fever and vomiting. Preparation: Only used by the shaman. The leaves are used like a sponge to rub the entire body. The helping spirits are thus activated and drive away the malfea- sant spirits. |
