| Field notes | Tree, 20 m. Common on riverbanks. Fruits eaten by fish. The seeds are probably dispersed in this way. Nom. vern.: "Ara-pi-boca" (Cayapa). Use: Fruits are used as bait. For "lombrices" (intestinal worms). Preparation: 3-4 droplets of the latex are drunk with a teaspoon of water in the morning and in the evening. This treatment is said to kill the worms. |
