Leaf sheath tubular forming a 125 cm long crownshaft, glabrous, reddish green to green distally. Petiole 5-10 cm. Rachis 400 cm long. Number of leaflets 2 x 91, pendent. One inflorescence with flowers in bud (red). One inflorescence past the pistillate phase (olive-green with red tinge). Inflorescences with flowers in bud: peduncle short to missing,18 cm across, greenish, basal remnants from three nonsheathing bracts present.
