Field notes Caespitose with 2-3 stems or solitary treelet. Stem collected 5.5 m long, 11 cm in diam. Number of leaves in crown about 50. Length of longest petiole 225 cm, heavily armed with blackish irregular teeth basally. Hastula extended, basal segments crossing. Three inflorescences past female anthesis: peduncle 60 cm long as measured to the insertion of the basal rachis bract. prophyll 34 cm long, 6-7 cm wide above the base, brown, chartaceous. Number of PD bracts 2, first one 44 cm long, second one 31 cm long. Rachis 160 cm long. Number of partial inflorescences 12-13, basal rachis bract 38 cm long, green basally with ferrugineous, wooly, deciduous hairs, brownish chartaceous distally, splitting cleanly. Basal partial inflorescence with peduncle contained in rachis bract and 29 cm long rachis, number of 2. order branches 27. Flowers past female anthesis, young fruits yellowish.
