Field notes Solitary palm 10.2 m tall, and 7 cm in diam, stem grayish, upper half with conspicuous leaf scars, these about 1 cm wide. Internodes 1.5-2 cm long. Number of leaves in crown 5 (+ 1 spear leaf). Leaf sheath 55 cm long, tubular, forming a green crown shaft covered by grayish feltation (easy to scrape off). Petiole about 10 cm long, almost terete except for flattened adaxial side, green, covered by ferrugineous, deciduous feltation. Rachis 1.7 m long, like petiole in colour and hair covering. Number of leaflets 2x13, green above, glaucous green below, longest leaflet in the middle part 84 cm. One inflorescence in bud. One immature infructescence. Duplicates at: AAU, LAE, BRI, K, CANB.
