| Field notes | Solitary. Stem 16.2 m long as measured to the crownshaft. Nodes indistinct except for upper 1-2 m. leaves in crown 7 ( + spear leaf). Leaf sheath tubular forming a 64 cm long crownshaft, yellowish green, covered by grayish powdery tomentum, splitting cleanly with deciduous, black ligules. Petiole 30 cm long. Rachis 95 cm long. Number of leaflets 2x13, unevenly wide, irregularly distributed, the wider ones at the middle part pointing above the plane. Two inflorescences in late pistillate phase. One bud, upright, adpressed to crownshaft. Duplicates at: AAU, LAE, BRI, K, CANB. |
