Inflorescence with 95-100 cm long peduncle; prophyll about 30 cm long; PD bract 1; rachillae bearing nodes 6; the flowers on the lower third part of rachillae opening first and simultaneously, all being at staminate anthesis on day one and pistillate anthesis on day two, on day two the flowers on the mid third part of the rachillae opens and in this way flowering progresses along one rachilla until the distal flowers are past pistillate anthesis on day 4. Flowers white at staminate anthesisand brownish with wilted corolla lobes at pistllate anthesis, producing much nectar throughout. |
