| Field notes | Caespitose shrub with stems up to 1.5 m tall. Leaves 8, spirally arranged, with about 20 cm in between, leaf sheath resolved in fibrous mesh. Petiole variable in length 1.2 - 1.5 m; blade to 90 cm long; number of pinnae 2 x 9 + 1. Infructescence immature, fruits purple basally to green distally. |
