| Field notes | Clustering palm forming tussocks in peat swamp forest. Stem about 5.5 m high. DBH about 8 cm. Internodes about 24 cm long, green distally. Crownshaft deep red. Tubular leafbases shortly splitting, with short brown chartaceous auricles. Petiole about 50 cm long, red. Rachis 160 cm long, red abaxially, less so adaxially. Pinnae 2 X 40 evenly distributed in one plane. Inflorescences 2: one past female anthesis, on in bud |
