| Field notes | Clustered. Stem collected 470 cm long up to crownshaft, ca. 6 cm in diam. Leaf sheath 45-50 cm, bright red, glabrous. Petiole 5-10 cm, bright red. Rachis 150-180 cm long, bright red abaxially, green with red tinge adaxially. Two Infructescences: peduncle 5-7 cm long, black to olivegreen, glabrous. Rachis 20-25 cm long, dark red and rugose. Proximal first order branches 10-12 cm long, each with up to 10 rachillae. Rachillae up to 55 cm long, dark red and rugose. Fruits black at maturity, 8-10 X 4-5 mm. |
