Field notes Common. Caespitose. Stem 150-300 cm long, 30-35 mm in diam., internodes green to 6 cm long. Leaf sheath 40 50 cm long, tubular, forming a red tinged, ferruginously lepidote olive green crownshaft. Petiole 45-50 cm long, green adaxially, yellow abaxially. Rachis 200-230 cm long, green with yellow line abaxially. Pinnae 2 X 36-38. Inflorescence with yellow rachis and rachillae. Infructescence with ovoid fruits, 35 X 25 mm, bright red to brown distally and with black stigma residual. Common. Caespitose. Stem 150-300 cm long, 30-35 mm in diam., internodes green to 6 cm long.
