| Field notes | Common in forest undergrowth. Solitary. Stem 100-200 cm long, ca. 1 cm in diam., internodes olive green, 5-12 cm long, darker towards the distal parts. Leaf scars few mm wide. Number of leaves 4-6. Leaf sheath 17-22 cm long, almost entirely tubular, forming a green crownshaft. Petiole 11-16 cm long. Rachis 40-55 cm long. Pinnae 2 X 7-8. Infructescence spicate, with red rachis and white berries. |
