| Field notes | Solitary on slope with undergrowth dominated by Daemonorops and two species of Pinanga. Stem 210 cm up to crownshaft, 38-44 mm in diam., internodes 8-9 cm long and green distally, leafscars 10-15 mm wide. Leaf sheath 35-40 cm long, proximal 25-30 cm tubular, olive green. Petiole 60-80 cm long. Rachis 200-220 cm long. Pinnae 2 X 26-28. Rachis and rachillae of infructescence bright red. Fruits changing colors during process of maturation from initially green, to yellow, then to red and finnaly to black. Photos. |
