| Field notes | Palm tree up to 7 m tall. Sheath splitting in coarse fibres treapping litter in the crown. Petiole + sheath 80-90 cm long. Rachis 490 cm long. Pinnae 2 X 81. Leaves collected from juvenile plant with stem ca. 150 cm long. Hapaxanthic. Peduncle 35 long, 7.5 cm in diam. proximally. Rachis 90 cm long. Numerous bracts, the proximal ones partly desintegrated in fibrous mesh and dark brown, the distal ones green. Rachillae 61, spirally arranged, proximal ones to 55 cm long, flattened basally, distal ones ca. 20 cm terete. |
