Field notes Herb. Close to trail. Nom. vern.: Ho-horo-tapé (Cayapa). Use: For snake bites ("Verrugosa" (Span.), "Bushmaster" (Engl.) "Ho-Horo" (Cayapa) = Lachesis Mala). Prep.: A decoction is made from the crude leaves, and applied to the bite. The decocted leaves are then applied to the bite to absorb the venom.
