Field notes Shrub, 1-1.5 m. Close to trail. Fruits red at maturity. Nom. vern.: Hè.n-tapé (Cayapa). Use: For headache, fever, and pain of the body. Prep.: The body is patted with the plant, thus activating the spirits to drive the illness away. One of the plants used by the shaman.
