Field notes Acaulescent. Number of leaves 10+. Transition between leaf sheath and petiole indistinct, the two combined 130 cm long. Leaf base 4.5 cm wide. Adaxial side of the petiole shallowly furrowed basally to flat above the middle, abaxial side deeply rounded. Rachis 140 cm long, with carina, prominent almost from the base. Number of pinnae 2 x 34, equally distributed in one plane, alternate to subopposite, eventually opposite towards the apex. One inflorescence past pistillate anthesis. Prophyll 35 - 37 cm long, brown chartaceous, not resolving, splitting along the sides to 4 cm. Peduncle 141 cm. PD bract inserted 110 cm above prophyll, 36 - 37 cm long, brown, chartaceous, splitting like the prophyll along the sides, but deeper so (about 10 cm). Peduncle flattened in CS, green, covered by ferrugenuous indumentum, haircovering less dense below the insertion of the PD bract. Rachis 20 cm. Inflorescence branched to 2'nd order. Immature fruits green.
