Identification qualifier  
Field notes Acaulescent palm. Number of leaves 6. Leaf sheaths 12-14 cm long, pale yellow, with scattered ferrugenuous hairs and brown spots. petiole 70 cm long, terete, light green basally to dark green. Rachis 38-40 cm long. Number of leaflets 2 x 4, subopposite, dark green above, lighter green below. Apices of leaflets extended into long caudicles. Multiple inflorescences with up to 8 prophylls at each nodes, these basally fused, yellow to brown, chartaceous, and desintegrating at the apex. Peduncle yellow with red tinge. Seedling collected. Newly produced leaves reddish green.
