Field notes Caespitose understorey palm to 3+ m tall, stem diam. 1.5 - 2 cm. Node length 2 cm below crown, leaf scars 0.5 - 1 cm wide. Number of leaves in crown 9, erect. Leaf base 22-24 cm long, glabrous, yellowish green to light green along the middle, with brown freckles, desintegrating along margin in long longitudinal fibres. Petiole 9 - 10 cm long, light green, terete. Leaf rachis 33 cm long. Blade 64-65 cm long, splitting irregularly in 2-3 segments on each side, individual segments adaxially shiny green with a number of raised veins, abaxially lighter green. Inflorescences 2. Peduncle light green, covered by dense ferrugenuous indumentum, easily removed by scraping. Nom vern: "siterarun" (olo language)
