| Field notes | Height 180 cm. Stem 1.5 cm in diam., colour dark green with greyish pattern, like snake skin. Distance between scars 9 cm. Leaf bases desintegrating in long straight filamentose fibres adherent to stem. Leaves light green striated maroon at the margin below, upper surface dark glossy green, texture sub-succulent. Inflorescence terminal. Floral bracts bright pink to rose. Flowers white, red tinged distally |
