Field notes Caespitose with about 20 stems, up to 3 m tall and 1.5 -2 cm in diam. Distance between leaf scars 1.5-2 cm apically. Crown of 10 leaves, plus one spear leaf. Leaf base split to the base, 20-22 cm long, greenish brown, covered by minute brown ramenta, rim chartaceous, desintegrating in fibrous mesh. Petiole indistinguishable. Blade 104 cm long. Rachis 74 cm long. Blade irregularly splitting. Terminal pinnae fused. Pinnae opposite to sub-opposite, from very narrow to 7 cm wide. Colour green above, lighter green below. Inflorescence with prophyll 22-24 long, brown, chartaceous, desintegrating apically. Peduncular bract 44-45 cm long, chartaceous, desintegrating, light brown, inserted immediately above prophyll. Peduncle 59 cm long, covered by brown ramenta, with 1-2 minute, ligular, rudimentary peduncular bracts. Rachilla 22 cm long, like peduncle in colour and haircovering.
