| Field notes | Solitary palmtree with stem to app. 5 m tall; stem diam. 2.5-3.5 cm; internode glabrous, green; leafscars conspicuous, encircling strm to 4 mm wide. Number of leaves 6; leafsheath 42 cm long, first cream later green on exposed parts, those of the lowermost leaves split to 8 cm above the base, uppermost leaves with the entire sheath, encircling stem; petiole 61 cm long, 1 cm wide, green, basally with median groove above, gradually fading art towards the central portion; rachis 138 cm long, green, with ridge abaxially and rounded adaxially; pinnae 2 x 15, falcate, the central ones biggest 55 x 6.5 cm; lamina thinly chartaceous. Inflorescences 4: one at anthesis at 2nd node, 3 old ones at 3rd node, 4th and 5th node. |
