| Field notes | Solitary palm. Stem 25-35 mm in diam. Distal internodes 4-5 cm long. Leaf sheath 28-36 cm long, proximal 24-28 cm tubular forming a green to olive-green crownshaft. Petiole 45-55 cm long, less on newly unfolded leaves. Rachis 90-110 cm long. Pinnae 2 X 19-21, regularly distributed in one plane, distal pinnae irregular in size. Rachillae of of inflorescences at anthesis (staminate and pistillate) with pink to red tinge. Young fruits yellow, mature fruits red to purple on the middle and yellow proximally and distally. Stigma remnants brown. Staminate flowers yellow. Flowers and fruits fixed in Navashin. |
