| Field notes | Medium sized palm tree with apex 350-400 cm above the ground, caespitose. Leaf sheath 65-80 cm long, dark green, the proximal 30-40 cm tubular, splitting distally in black fibrous mesh. Petiole 140-160 cm long, dark green basally to light green distally with patches of ferrugenous feltation abaxially. Secondary leaf rachillae 2 X 9-10. Leaf rachis dark green adaxially with sparse ferruginous feltation, light green to cream abaxially with patches of ferruginous feltation. Proximal secondary leaf rachillae with 6 pinnae, the middle ones with 14-15. Inflorescence collected from the same individual as leaves. Two additional infructescences collected from individual nearby. Flowers and fruits fixed in Navashin. |
