Field notes Clustered with multiple, 2-4 tall stems. Leaves 6-10. Leaf sheaths 42-46 cm long, tubular for proximal ca. 30 cm and forming a green, sparsely lepidote crown shaft. Petiole 38-45 cm long, green, glabrous. Rachis 135-145 cm long. Pinnae 2 X 45-50 . Inflorescence one or two on each stem, continously growint through anthesis. Peduncle 30-45 cm, covered by prophyll and peduncular bracts. Prophyll 45-50 cm long, brown charataceous, basally with ragged edge, partly desintegrated distally. Rachis 50-60 cm, green, glabrous, number of secondary raches 21-23, the proximal ones 25 cm long, with 13 tertiary raches or rachillae, distal part of primary rachis rachillae-bearing. Flower buds yellow. Ornamental growing outside the bungalow of the park employees.
