| Field notes | Caespitose with two flowering stems, the one collected 150 cm tall and about 6 cm in diam. Internodes 7-8 cm long ca. 30 cm above the base. Stem 3.5 cm in diam. distally, here with 1.5-2 cm long dark green internodes. Leaf sheath tubular for proximal 19-20 cm, chartaceous and brown along the split, forming a 25-27 cm long red tinged olive-green crownshaft. Petiole 7-8 cm, glabrous or with scattered dark tomentum. Pinnae 2 X 19, grouped basally, otherwise regularly distributed. Inflorescence two, rachis- and rachillae branches densely covered with ferruginous feltation. |
