| Field notes | Caespitose. Stem collected 150 cm long, 8 cm in diam, nodes distinct from about 50 cm above the ground, internodes here 5-6 cm long, brown to grey, with pathchy covering of crustaceous lichens, with small longitudinal splits, dital internodes dark green, 2-3 cm long, leaf scars dark brown 0.5-1 cm wide. Leafsheath tubular for proximal 20-22 cm forming a ca. 30 cm long olive-green to brown crownshaft. Petiole 7-9 cm long with ferruginous tomentum above. Rachis 95-100 cm long, with ferruginous tomentum above. Pinnae 2 X 23 grouped basally, otherwise evenly distributed. Three inflorescences: one before male anthesis, one at male anthesis, one past female anthesis. Rachis- and rachillae branches yellow, develloping fruits green. |
