Field notes Stem 260 cm tall, proximal diam. 24 cm, distal diam. 11 cm, nodes obscure near the base but conspicuous from the middle part and up, here about 5 cm apart, distal internodes green 1-2 cm long, leafscars brown 0.8-1.2 cm wide. Number of leaves 8-9, distichously arranged. Leafsheath 55-60 cm long, split to base, but forming an indistinct crownshaft, green, smooth, with patchy covering of gray crustaceous lichens. Petiole 15-20 cm. Rachis 280-290 cm long. Pinnae 2 X 151, grouped on one side as follows: 1+1+2+2+3+2+3+2+3+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+4+3+4+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+4+3+4+3+4+3+4+3+3+3+3+3+2+3+2+2+3+2+3+2+3+2+2+2+3+3+5+5+2+1+1. Two inflorescences before anthesis, two after anthesis and partly desintegrated. Prophyll 35-40 cm long, coriaceous, with patchy covering og gray crustaceous lichens. Petiole 45-50 cm, covered by patches of ferruginous feltation. Rachis 81 cm long ferruginously felted proximally. Secondary raches 22, green, glabrous, the most proximal ones with 21 tertiary raches, that each bear 11 rachillae.
