| Field notes | Solitary understory palm with procumbent stem. Number of leaves 10. Male inflorescences 4: one ca. 1 week past anthesis, the other three much older; peduncle app. 65 cm long; prophyll 30 cm long, brown, covered by gray crustaceous lichens in patches, flattened and 7 cm wide, splitting apically, with lateral app. 1 cm wide runs; sheathing bract inserted at 25 cm above the base, 44 cm long, splitting adaxially app. is cm down from apex; rachis 54 cm long, 1.2 cm in diam (probably shrieked considerably proportional to to the newly appeared inflorescence |
