Field notes Solitary understory treelet, about 3 m. Leaf sheath tubular and about 53 cm long, the distal 25 cm prolonged, free of petiole, chartaceous to resolving. Petiole 85 cm long armed basally only. Lamina divided in 18 segments with (1/2+)1(+1/2) to (1/2+)3(+1/2) pliae, not arranged in apparent pattern, mid segment with (1/2+)6(+1/2) pliae, not divided; basal segement 47 cm long, apical segment 57 cm long. One inflorescence, 2 immature infructescences one old infructescence. All measures refer to inflorescence at anthesis. Inflorescence erect, raised above the crown. Prophyl 50 cm long, desintegrating apically. Number of nodes 8. Basal first order branch about 18 cm long. Number of flowerbearing rachillae 7, erect, covered by ferrugenuous tomentum. Flowers about 1 cm long, whitish. Opening of anther tube very narrow, stamens black. Four duplicates.
