| Field notes | Stem solitary, 7 m tall, 20 cm diam, ringed. leaves 17; petiole split at base, petiole and sheath ca 120 cm long; blade costapalmate, ca. 20 main segments, pendulous at the apex. Inflorescence at forty-five degree angle to axis, and well exposed from leaves, interfoliar, 250 cm long, with 21 main branches; flowers at anthesis whitish with sweet smell.
