| Field notes | Stem solitary, smooth, but covered with fibers on younger plants, to 10 m tall, ca 20 cm diam. Leaves 12; sheath absent, only fibrous remains; petiole 1.2 m long; blade entire. Inflorescence always interfoliar. All plants seen with inflorescences and no fruit. One in flower seen and collected, bees visiting and also Apiomerus sp. (Reduviidae, Hemiptera). |
