| Field notes | Stem solitary, 23 m tall, with 2 m cone of stilt roots. Crown shaft 1.5 m. Leaves 7. Petiole 24 cm, round/rectangular. Rachis 187 cm with 20 pairs of pinnae per side, pinnae split into (from base) 2-1-1-3-4-3-3-6-7-6-4-6-7 segments, the distal the widest. Apical segment split. 1 infructescence, 1 inflorescence at staminate anthesis (with all staminate flowers still in position and pistillate flowers with stigma brown at 1200). Numerous beetles on inflorescence (Phyllotrox sp.). One other bud visible, erect, and a second collected from inside leaf sheath |
