| Field notes | Stems clustered, 6 m long, 0.4 cm diameter with sheaths. Sheaths green with short, black-tipped spines; knees present; ocreas very short, membranous; flagella present on every node, 60 cm long with irregular spines; petioles 2 cm long; rachises 8-11.5 cm long with 2-3 pinnae per side, the basal pair at right angles to rachis (or , on older plants, swept back across the sheath), the apical pair fused for ca. one third of their lenght and more or less parallel; pinnae apices blunt, rachis apices briefly filiform. Inflorescences very slender with paniculate partials and tubular bracts. DNA sample. |
