| Field notes | Stems clustered, not climbing, to 10 m tall, 3 cm diameter, green, the intemodes 10-15 cm apart, falling under their own weight and the apices rooting at the ground to form new plants. Flagella absent; knee absent; sheaths green with horizontal rows of black spines; ocreas elongate, to 35 cm long, splitting; petioles 46 cm long; rachises 138 cm long; pinnae 28 per side of rachis, regularly arranged and stiffly spreading in the same plane. Inflorescences arching, to 224 cm long, staminate; partial inflorescences branched to two orders, the subtending bracts splitting and tattering. DNA sample. |
