| Field notes | Stems clustered, 5 m long, 3.5 cm diameter with sheaths. Sheats green with yellowish ridges, with downward pointing, flat, yellow spines; knees prominent; ocreas small or absent; flagella 3 m long; petioles 5 cm long; rachis 90 cm long with 63 pinnae per side, these irregulaly arranged in close clusters 2-3 pinnae of a cluster spreading in different planes, the apical pinnae much smaller than the others, the margins spiny, the veins without spines.
