| Field notes | Stems solitary, some very large, up to 4 m or more tall, to 8 cm diameter. Petioles to 2 m long; blades 140 cm across, divided into 20 segments, the middle one petiolulate. Inflorescences branched to 2 orders, erect amongst the leaves and not exceeding them, to 195 cm long with 10 partial inflorescences, these with to 11 rachillae; basal 2-3 partial inflorescences with 'ears' at the base. v.n.
