| Field notes | Stems clustered with 8 main stems to 8 m tall, to 8 cm diameter. Leaves borne on at least half the stem; sheaths closed, to 65 cm long; petioles to 20 cm long; rachis 155 cm long with 13 primary pinnae per side, the basal one with 7 secondary pinnae; primary pinnae with strongly swollen bases. Inflorescences basipetally developed; fruits globose, ripening from green to red to purple. DNA sample. v.n. "may dang" |
