| Field notes | Stems solitary, Visible for 5 cm above ground level, green, 3 cm diameter. Leaves 12; sheaths green with brown tomentum, with scattered, yellowish spines; ocreas prominent, 5 cm long; knees absent; petioles 60 cm long, spiny as the sheath; rachis 53 cm long with 21 pinnae per side, these in distant clusters of 2-6 pinnae, the apical pair of pinnae joined for almost their entire length, all pinnae yellowish at the bases. Inflorescence staminate, erect. DNA specimen. |
